Elon Musk Removes Blocking Feature for X Users

Users of X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, will no longer have the ability to block other users. Elon Musk, the owner of X, stated that he would keep the mute function but remove the block feature in response to a user on Friday.

Blocking someone on a social media platform prevents them from interacting with your account. With the mute function, the muted user can still see and interact with your posts.

“Block is going to be deleted as a ‘feature’, except for DMs,” Elon Musk said on X. “It makes no sense.”

However, this decision could potentially cause problems for X with Apple and other app stores. Removing the block function may violate their policies, which could result in X being removed from the digital marketplaces.

This move comes after Elon Musk rebranded the platform and changed its logo to a sleek black X. He plans to turn X into an all-in-one app for shopping and streaming.
