Gov. Asa Hutchinson to Participate in First Republican Primary Debate After Signing Loyalty Pledge

Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson has announced that he has qualified for the first GOP presidential debate and will be signing the Republican Party’s loyalty pledge. He made this announcement on CNN’s “State of the Union”, stating that he has met the Republican National Committee’s requirement of 40,000 individual donors with a total of 42,000 donors, and has also met the polling requirements. Despite his previous opposition to Donald Trump, Hutchinson has stated that he will sign the loyalty pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee, expressing confidence that Trump will not be the nominee. It is expected that Trump will neither participate in the debate nor sign the pledge due to his significant lead in the polls.
