Mohamed Al-Fayed, Ex-Owner of Harrods and Father of Late Son Who Died in Car Accident with Princess Diana, Passes Away at 94

LONDON — Mohamed Al-Fayed, the former owner of the iconic Harrods department store in London, has passed away at the age of 94, according to the football club he once owned. Al-Fayed, a self-made Egyptian businessman, was also known for his ownership of Fulham Football Club. He was devastated by the tragic death of his son, Dodi Fayed, in a car crash with Princess Diana 26 years ago and spent the rest of his life grieving this loss.

In a statement on the Fulham Football Club’s website, Shahid Khan, Al-Fayed’s successor as owner, expressed his heartfelt condolences to Al-Fayed’s family and friends. Khan also remarked that Al-Fayed’s legacy will always hold a special place in the history of Fulham Football Club, an sentiment shared by supporters around the world.
